About Us

mdratic (rhymes with quadratic) is a small group based in Costa Rica.

We are passionate about computers and people, and see coding as both a science and an art.

Full-time employees during the day, freelancers during our free time.


Also, we believe that computers are just a tool that, like any other tool, can be used for good or for evil. Hopefully, overall, people will use them for good.

We envision a world where technology works for all human beings, improving the lives of all.


Our backgrounds cover Finance (and other Business Administration disciplines) and Programming, primarily. In the upcoming years, expect to see products in these areas.


Our first product

Workaholy

Workaholy is an enhanced personal planner, that seeks to maximize your efficiency.

Traditionally, to plan your day, you set start and end times. Workaholy is different: instead, you estimate how many minutes it will take you to finish a task (you have 1440 minutes a day), its difficulty, priority, and deadline, and the algorithm will try to help you be productive. Also, as with other, similar, algorithms, the more you use it, the more accurate it becomes (or at least, that is what we hope).

It is powered by a combination of a brute force search, stochastic features, an artificial neural network, and some basic reinforcement learning concepts.

Workaholy is a constant work in progress, with a lot of room for improvement.
